Thinking about reincarnation in an attempt to explain my identity and world view, it makes me feel very primitive to grapple with universal wonders in an attempt to explain my own small phenomenon of being. My inner scientist is scolding me with a redirection to "nature vs. nuture" (it's both, of course) but I've always sought some tepid mixture of science and spirituality. It's silly how things have to be so definite at an early age. We acknowledge that great change can take lifetimes. What about the change within ourselves?

Every individual cell in your body is replaced every seven years... or so I hear.

I've heard some hearsay, with variations in the duration. It might be true, with the exception of neurons.

But then there's neurogenesis... and I don't know about you, but I know I don't have all the braincells I used to.

Adult neurogenesis isn't possible without the introduction of certain drugs, right?

Beats me.
